Meet the Groveton PTA Officers
Liz is the mother of two Groveton tigers Logan (3rd grade) and Eddie (1st grade). She is a Virginia native, and a Groveton-area resident of 11 years. Liz is a graduate of Marymount University and Northwestern University School of Law. She currently works for the Federal government on child welfare law and policy. In her spare time, you might find her baking, walking her dog, seeing live music, or watching a Nats game. She was active in PTA activities last year, and especially loved volunteering at PTA events. Liz looks forward to working to improve communication and collaboration with parents and teachers, and to continue the PTA’s tradition of hosting fun and educational events with our Groveton Elementary community.

Liz es la madre de dos tigres de Groveton, Logan (3er grado) y Eddie (1er grado). Es nativa de Virginia y reside en Groveton desde hace 11 años. Liz se graduó de la Universidad Marymount y de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Northwestern. Actualmente trabaja para el gobierno federal en leyes y políticas de bienestar infantil. En su tiempo libre, puede encontrarla horneando, paseando a su perro, viendo música en vivo o viendo un partido de los Nacionales. Participó activamente en las actividades de la PTA el año pasado y le encantaba ser voluntaria en los eventos de la PTA. Liz espera trabajar para mejorar la comunicación y la colaboración con los padres y maestros, y continuar con la tradición de la PTA de organizar eventos divertidos y educativos con nuestra comunidad de Groveton Elementary.
I am a proud mother of 2 Groveton Tigers. David prom of 2020, Gabriel (3rd) & Josué my step-grandchild(1st) all at the Bilingual program. I am a from Costa Rica. Came to USA in 2007 as tourist and decided to stay when I meet my husband Juan Rivera. I have a Bachelor in journalism, a grade in Administration and used to work as a Radio/TV reporter. My experience in social areas is what I love to express when help the community. I consider myself an extroverted, imaginative, dreamer and an eternal believer in kindness and good actions. I am an active board member of the PTA, serving as Vice President. My major interest is to create better communication with the Spanish speakers Groveton's parents.

Soy una orgullosa madre de 2 Groveton Tigers desde 2013: David graduado en 2020, Gabriel (3rd) y mi Leo (1st) todos en el programa bilingüe. Soy Costarricense y vivo en Virginia desde 2007 cuando conocí a mi esposo Juan Rivera. Tengo una licenciatura en periodismo y administración y trabajaba como reportera de radio/TV. Esa experiencia en las áreas sociales es lo que más me gusta expresar al momento de ayudar a la comunidad. Me describo como una soñadora imaginativa, extrovertida y una eterna creyente en la bondad y las buenas acciones. Soy miembro activo de la junta directiva de la PTA ejerciendo como vicepresidenta. Mi principal interés es crear una mejor comunicación con los padres de habla hispana de Groveton.
