Tiger Family Soccer Fest Success!

October 24, 2026

From face painting and PTA gear to enjoying delicious food and celebrating 150 Years of Groveton Elementary, our Tiger community showed up in full force!

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who made this event possible:

• Fairfax250 Commission for their grant funding that helped supply soccer nets to the school and decorate the indoor 150th celebration!

• Our face painting vendor, Ms. Eufonia and her family, for bringing so much color, creativity, and joy to our students!

• Rob Wolgamotti (Ms. Wolgamatti's husband) for keeping the energy high, playing awesome music, and being the ultimate MC!

• Lee Mount Vernon Sports Club (LMVSC) Soccer League for their amazing partnership and contributions to our young athletes!

• Our generous Members who loaned us items and purchased items for the event!

• Our PTA volunteers & West Potomac High School student volunteers. We couldn't have pulled this off without your hard work, time and dedication to our Groveton families!

Thank you to all the families who came out to play, connect, and celebrate with us. We are so proud of our Groveton community!

National Custodian Day!

October 2, 2026

Today, October 2 marks National Custodian Day, a special opportunity to recognize the five incredible individuals who keep our school clean, safe and welcoming every day!

This year, we partnered with students to show our appreciation in heartfelt ways:

• Thank‑You Posters – Students created colorful gratitude posters and signed them.

• Hand‑Colored Cards – Classes designed and decorated cards to brighten our custodians’ day.

• Gift Card & Snack Gifts – The PTA provided a variety of snacks, sweet treats, a gift card and "We'd Be a Mess Without You" keychain as a small token of thanks for their hard work.

September Meeting Recap!

September 17, 2026

It was wonderful to connect with new and returning members! We introduced this year's Board, shared what’s new this year, received approval on the 2026/27 budget and updates to bylaws, announced the Membership Raffle winner (5th grade parent Jessica Johnson!), and received an introduction into FCPS Family Vision Group from member Jessica Johnson, who will represent Groveton Elementary and provide updates at future PTA meetings.

A special thank you to our West Potomac High School volunteers who helped staff the evening, and to everyone who supported our sale of sodas, snacks and spirit wear. Together, we raised more than $300 to support our PTA!

Our PTA was thrilled to welcome back teachers and staff with a delicious breakfast! Lauren Spencer, our PTA Secretary, who is also a Groveton teacher and parent, shared opportunities for teachers and staff to get involved with the PTA, including our grant request process.
